Stephen Curry took the Golden State warriors to the 2022 NBA Finals again after 2019. Steph Curry was spectacular in the winning of the Western Conference Finals against the Mavs. That earned him the first ever Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP after the Warriors beat the Dallas on Thursday night by 120-110, winning the series in five games.

Curry has already set up his legacy by winning three championships, two league MVP awards, two scoring titles and the latest edition “Magic Johnson” Western Conference Finals MVP. Holding numerous three point shooting records and with those titles he won, Curry is recognized as one of the greatest shooter in the NBA history.
But there is one thing Steph Curry’s glorious NBA misses, that is winning a Finals MVP. Winning just one Finals MVP award will take curry into another level of highness to the hall of fame with the all time basketball legends.
What’s Curry’s stats saying so far?
The 34 year old Dubs star was excellent in the series against the Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. Averaging 23.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists. Game 5’s effort 15 points and nine assists was his weakest effort of the series.
It is just an example what how Curry continued another excellent season with an average of 25.5 points, 6.3 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 38.0 percent from three.
Curry won three NBA title, eight time All-Star, two time MVP, a Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP, two time scoring champion and four time first team All NBA selection.
With these stats the future Hall of Famer and one of the most talented 3 points shooter of all time definitely deserves the Finals MVP for at least a time. Which this time he is very close if we talk the stats he got this season and how he performed in the Conference Finals winning the MVP.
How he is heading towards the MVP?
It is still a surprise that Curry has not won a Finals MVP despite winning three NBA title with the Warriors and Curry playing an instrumental role. But, this time Curry is looking so good that looks like he is already destined that he is getting it to his showcase this time.
The 34 year old is already among the best sharpshooter of all time and has been outstanding in this year’s playoffs. Curry has averaged 26.5 points, 6.2 assists, and 5.7 rebounds in 28 games in the NBA Finals and producing 25.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.9 rebounds in the season.
However, he couldn’t do much justice towards his name in the game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Mavs but that wasn’t an issue for him winning the Western Conference Finals MVP. Curry has always lifted up the Warriors with his performance.
This time all the warriors fanbase hope to lift Curry lifting the NBA 2০22 Championship for the fourth time. Curry would like it too along with the idea of lifting the MVP for first time. That’s the one feather which is missing in the beautiful showcase of his achievement gallery.
Why Finals MVP is important for Steph Curry?
Steph Curry would be the only player to win 4 titles to tie with the King James in past decade. The three titles he won are most of the time believed that credited by Kevin Durant for the narrative that Golden State wouldn’t have won any championship without Kevin being there.
Therefore KD won both of those Finals MVPs, Curry having zero as of now. Well, the comparison may not fit enough but a Finals MVP would add more compatibility to that.
With the 2022 Championship and Finals MVP shall definitely take Curry’s photo into the album of all time greats. Warriors with the move they are heading is most likely to win the championship. It is the finest opportunity for the Warriors shooter to win the Finals MVP.
