Legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao refuted the possibility of fighting YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul, as he believes that the fight won’t add to his legacy.
Manny Pacquiao gave an in-depth interview to the media prior to his much anticipated fight against Errol Spence. His political aspirations in his native Philippines and his plans for the ring after the fight with Spence were the two topics he didn’t seem particularly eager to discuss.
When asked if he will face anyone else following his battle with Spence, he responded, “I could , or there’s more. One at a time.” The iconic Filipino figure is clearly past his prime at 42 years old. However, Pacquiao defeated one of the brightest of boxing’s newest crop of top fighters in his most recent fight, two years ago against Keith Thurman.
But whatever happens, Pacquiao dismissed the possibility of fighting controversial social media personality turned boxer- Jake Paul. Paul who transitioned into a career of boxing has mainly fought non-boxers, and is till date undefeated inside the boxing ring.
“No, I will not, I want to fight the best to add into my legacy. ”
Pacquiao also touched on Jake’s lack of experience inside the ring is a disadvantage. “He’s already at a disadvantage,” “I’d rather take one of the best to fight to add to my legacy.”
