Even though it was only an exhibition battle, both men entered the ring with mean intentions. Mayweather ended the Southpaws’ journey with a massive K.O., dropping Asakura minutes before the bell . The match ended in the second round, leaving the crowd in awe. The highly anticipated match proved why Floyd is called The Money and why he is one of the most highly decorated players in the sport.
Asakura, 30, tried his best to withstand with his fast feet and landed a couple of clean blows, but Mayweather outmaneuvered him. Mayweather’s fast and powerful blows threw Asakura to the floor. The referee gave Asakura a chance to recover, but it had rocked him preety bad. Asakura tried to come back, but his legs gave out. The count couldn’t do much, and seconds before the bell ,Mayweather prevailed.
After the bout, Mayweather expressed his thanks to Rizin and the nation of Japan. He then pointed out Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather ended by saying goodbye and promising to return.
Minutes after the result, the bout flooded Twitter and other platforms. The incident not only made the news, but the viral stream raised some voices. Most of the comments were in favour of the “Money”, as he delivered what he had promised earlier. Most of these comments may have been in favour of Mayweather but they didn’t seem to be passive towards Asakura.
