UFC 281: “I’m going to finish this man” Dustin Poirier wants to destroy Michael Chandler

Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler will fight this Saturday at UFC 281 from Madison Square Garden in New York City, while Poirier is confident enough to destroy Michael ‘Iron’ Poirier.

The addition of Dustin Poirier vs. Michael Chandler to the UFC 281 card was announced at the UFC 279 pay-per-view on Saturday night. The two favorite lightweights will square off on Nov. 12 in a fight that has been linked to the New York event for more than a month.

Poirier’s quest for the undisputed crown has become more complex. The 33-year-old veteran’s second title defense ended similarly to the first, and now that Islam Makhachev is the champion, no one appears to be calling for another Poirier title bout.

Fortunately, “The Diamond” has made his bank by twice knocking out Conor McGregor, and he’s also established a reputation as one of the most entertaining and skilled Lightweights of all time.

Chandler, on the other hand, has only been in the UFC for four fights, with an even split of wins and losses, but he’s making up for a lost time. The bottom fact is that Chandler has three knockouts and is a “Fight of the Year” contender in his Octagon appearances, so without any regard, he’s a must-watch.

However, during the UFC 281 Pre-Fight Press Conference, Dustin Poirier appears to be violent enough to crush Michael Chandler ahead of their upcoming fight.

“I’m going to finish this, man,” Dustin Poirier stated.

Let’s take a closer look at each man’s key to victory.

Dustin Poirier vs. Michael Chandler

Dustin Poirier

Record: 29-7 (1)

Key Wins: Conor McGregor (UFC 264, UFC 257), Max Holloway (UFC 236), Justin Gaethje (UFC on FOX 29), Eddie Alvarez (UFC on FOX 30), Dan Hooker (UFC on ESPN 12), Anthony Pettis (UFC Fight Night 120), Joseph Duffy (UFC 195)

Key Losses: Khabib Nurmagomedov (UFC 242), Charles Oliveira (UFC 269), Conor McGregor (UFC 178), Michael Johnson (UFC Fight Night 94)

Keys to Victory: Poirier is regarded as one of the top boxers in MMA. He can hang behind his straight shots from a long distance just as well as he can trade in the pocket, and in either case, “The Diamond” can CRACK!

Michael Chandler

Record: 23-6

Key Wins: Dan Hooker (UFC 257), Tony Ferguson (UFC 274), Benson Henderson (Bellator 243, Bellator 165), Brent Primus (Bellator 212), Patricky Freire (Bellator 157), Eddie Alvarez (Bellator 58)

Key Losses: Charles Oliveira (UFC 262), Justin Gaethje (UFC 268), Patricio Freire (Bellator 221), Will Brooks (Bellator 120, Bellator 131)

Keys to Victory: Chandler is an unstoppable force. Chandler, an All-American wrestler with dynamite in both hands, doesn’t always make the best choices, and we’re all better off for it.

Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler will fight each other at UFC 281. Who will still be standing when everything is over?
