Kyle Kuzma has been a decent player for the Washington Wizards over the last two years, and his stats speak for themselves- he was able to improve his game significantly and score consistently with an average of 17.1 points per game in the last season while improving, even more, in this season with 21.8 points per game in his 33 appearances.
However, even with the constant uprise, it seems like Kyle wants to break his ties with the team and move closer to his home- Michigan.
After two impressive seasons, it is thought that Kuzma intends to exercise that player option to opt out of the deal, which is a circumstance that could compel the Wizards to swap him immediately rather than risk losing him without receiving anything in exchange.
How has Kyle Kuzma been traded over the years?
Before he came to the capital of Washington, he was a Laker stuck in a poor nick, and in non of the season with the franchise could he achieve the high he has recently reached with the Wizards.
However, after an intense 2018-19 season where Kyle managed to score 18.7 points per game, the Los Angeles Lakers and Kuzma agreed to extend their previous contract for three years in 2020 at a total cost of $39 million with $13 million as a yearly salary, with the third year of that extension being a player option.
He was traded in 2021 by the Lakers and will enter the third year of his contract in the 2023–24 season.
As of late, rumors have circulated regarding possible trades involving Kuzma. It is due to the Wizards’ concern that he may depart the team in the offseason. Furthermore, the team, not wanting to risk the situation, would also be interested in trading the player.
If everything goes as planned and smooth, the fans can expect the possible trade of Kyle Kuzma in the coming days. Stay tuned for more updates!
