Tyson Fury, the two-time world heavyweight champion, recently [03 December] fought against Derek Chisora in a trilogy bout and won and retained the WBC world heavyweight title. So currently, this undefeated boxer is looking for an opponent for his next clash.
In a recent podcast, the Gypsy King revealed three names he wishes to fight to establish a concrete legacy in the boxing arena. The first name this 34-year-old disclosed was David Price, the only player who defeated him.
“I wonder if it would still sell out a stadium if me and big old David Price had a fight. Even though he’s retired, Old Trafford or Anfield I think we sell it out for the WBC World Heavyweight title. Or even if the WBC wouldn’t sanction it, we could do it for the Northwest title of Great Britain.”
Fury also believes that fighting with David Haye would really create a huge buzz and attract a huge crowd from England.
“And I also think that a fight with the toe breaker would sell a stadium out. Do you think me and him [David Haye] would still sell out?
The last person Fury called out was Anthony Joshua, the only active fighter of these three.
“There’s still three big rivalry fights in this country for me. Even though they ain’t active or whatever. David Price, David Haye Anthony Joshua. Three……So if you’re out there and I know you’re still out there and I know you’re still in the gym.”
Price and Haye both retired from professional boxing, making it nearly impossible to reintroduce them into the ring. However, this interview shed some light on the possibility of a Fury-Joshua fight.
As of a few months ago, there was an ongoing negotiation between Joshua’s team and Fury’s team, and a contract was made, but AJ didn’t sign the contract within the deadline, which resulted in the Fury vs. Chisora 3 bout.
