The Brooklyn Nets, unlike last year, have played to their real potential, winning the majority of their games- twenty-seven out of their forty games- are now seeded comfortably at the second position in the Easter Conference. However, things are about to take a turn and may change the dynamics for the Nets.
While the Nets were having a wonderful season, with Kevin Durant playing like a real “MVP,” they were up against a distorted Bulls side in a devastated state searching for victory on 5th January. Even though the Bulls went on to bring victory from the jaws of defeat- as Durant again played his skin out and grabbed a 40-pointer in the match- the Nets got pumped up and set their eyes on the following matches.
Winning the game against the Pelicans- 102-108- reminded them of their explicit destructive form. Kevin once again stood out in the match with thirty-three points, and he, along with his teammates, was not ready to stop.
With no injuries prior to the Miami game, Durant and the Brooklyn players gave it their all and won the match by the barest of margins- winning the game with a point lead. However, during the match, their “MVP,” Kevin Durant, got a knee injury in the third quarter as he landed on his right knee and his shoe came off.
What will happen to the Nets without Kevin Durant?
Kevin getting injured with a sprained MCL might cause a lot of panic in the Brooklyn camp- since Durant contributed the most throughout the tournament in the Nets’ line-up.
Even with players like Kyrie Irving, the Nets will prepare themselves for the worst as they are a “star” short. Furthermore, though Irving is a “rising star,” he cannot be compared to Kevin.
Can the Brooklyn Nets continue their sensational form with no Kevin Durant on the team for at least a month? Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
