Israel Adesanya’s run in the UFC was phenomenal up until UFC 281 when he suffered his second mixed martial arts career defeat by Alex Pereira. However, a motivated Israel issued a warning to his opponent before the rematch between the two of them.
Since his 2019 victory against Robert Whittaker, The Last Stylebender has reigned as middleweight champion for three full years. Five times he was able to successfully defend the title before his last bout against Alex Pereira. Adesanya began the fight strongly, easily outworking Poatan.
However, Alex didn’t start unleashing his inner beast until the fifth round, which is when he ultimately scored a TKO victory over Israel.
Adesanya and Pereira are scheduled to square off against one another once more in a rematch at UFC 287 on April 8th. This time around, the 33-year-old fighter has even more drive and enthusiasm to exact his vengeance on the Brazilian fighter.

The former middleweight champion had an extensive interview not too long ago, in which he discussed his plans and techniques to defeat Poatan saying he has never been motivated to fight Pereira, but for this one, he has put the pressure on himself.
“Like, f*** the belt, f*** everything else. I have to beat this guy, so that’s my motivation, just beating him. Like I said, they can say whatever they want, it’s 1-0 or 3-0, I don’t keep score, I settle them and I just need one and I’m going to get it done.” said Israel.

The Last Stylebender just wants to keep the same energy the whole fight because according to the middleweight fighter, he is always beating Pereira until he is not, hence he’s plan is just going to make sure he keeps beating the current middleweight champion the whole way through.
“I go in there and I don’t overthink. I’m not gun shy. I go in there and I trade with people, especially with him as well, so expect me to do what I do. Like I said, I have to talk because you guys want me to talk, but say less and I’ll do more. I promise you I’ll do more in this fight.” Adesanya further added.

In order to successfully defend his middleweight title, Adesanya has earned victories against Robert Whittaker twice, Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa, Marvin Vettori, and Jared Cannonier thus far. Do you believe that he will be able to get back the middleweight title after defeating Alex Pereira?
