The Philadelphia Eagles have now started losing their defensive coaching stuff after experiencing a soul-crushing defeat in Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Despite showing a successful defensive strategy throughout the season, it seems the Eagles are trying to pin the blame on defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. However, the Eagles were actually shown their weakness against Patrick Mahomes and Co., which ended in a narrow defeat.
Following the defeat, Gannon resigned from the responsibility and took over the head coaching role for the Arizona Cardinals, and the flow started there.
Who else has been let go from the Eagles’ defensive coaching staff?
Following the departure of the coordinator, the Cardinals persuaded Eagles linebackers coach Nick Rallis to become the new defensive coordinator. The Cardinals have taken two of the Eagles’ best defensive strategists and given them more responsibility.

Previously, Nick was the youngest LB coach in NFL history before the age of 29, and now, in the span of two years, he has become the youngest coordinator in the NFL. The fairy tale might have just begun with the young staff.
Prior to coming to Philadelphia, Rallis was with the Minnesota Vikings’ defensive team for three years as defensive quality control and assistant linebackers coach. Prior to that, he began his coaching career as a quality control coach at Wake Forest in 2017.
According to several sources, the 29-year-old was pursued by a couple of other franchises; however, his previous boss, Jonathan, might play an integral part in his decision to join the Cardinals.
The duo had managed to hold a compact defense throughout the season; one might consider them the best defensive side in the NFC, if not the NFL.
The Cardinals are still looking to fill several vacant positions on the offensive and defensive staff, including offensive coordinator and defensive line coach. Should they lure some of the Eagles’ backroom staff away? Time will tell.
