The Los Angeles Lakers’ new recruit D’Angelo Russell suffered an ankle injury during the game against Golden State Warriors at Crypto.com Arena on February 23.
Initially, the injury didn’t seem serious as he was supposed to return to the court quickly, but with an additional treatment procedure, he missed five games till now. Following Russel’s injury, Lakers superstar LeBron James also became a victim of an ankle injury in the next game.
However, in the next game against Memphis Grizzlies, the Lakers might expect a return of their injured player.
What is the update on D’Angelo Russell’s injury?
According to the Lakers injury status update report, the 27-year-old is expected to make an appearance on the court against the return game with Grizzlies at Crypto.com Arena.
Additionally, another Lakers superstar Anthony Davis is also tagged as ‘probable’ for the game tonight. However, center Mo Bamba will be out due to a left ankle sprain alongside LeBron for several weeks.

Russell played four games for the Lakers prior to his injury and scored with an average of 13.5 points with 3.5 rebounds and 5 assists per game so far.
On the other hand, the Grizzlies will also miss their star point guard Ja Morant who is currently serving a two-game suspension following his online antics of appearing live on Instagram with a firearm.
The Grizzlies’ coach Taylor Jenkins although didn’t provide any assurance of Morant’s possible return date after this suspension; it seems the 23-year-old is going face severe consequences from the NBA authority.
The Grizzlies are the second seed in the Western Conference, whereas the Lakers are the 11th seed. Despite the difference in this season’s performance, the fans are pretty enthralled to witness the game. Without their star players, both teams appear to be in similar strength.
