Jon Jones shocks fans with claims of hearing Ciryl Gane’s “spine popping” during UFC 285 knockout

Jon Jones made his long-awaited return to the octagon and defeated Cyril Gane through submission; however, it is unknown whether Jones also broke Gane’s spine during the brutal submission. Yet, the recently crowned heavyweight champion claims to have heard a popping sound coming from the Frenchman’s spine.

Jon Jones made his return to the octagon on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Nevertheless, the fact that it had been almost three years since his last bout, but had little impact on how well he performed.

Instead, he destroyed his opponent in a way that reflects a king of the jungle, appearing to be bigger, more ferocious, and more indestructible than ever before.

The former king of the light heavyweight division made his comeback to the Ultimate Fighting Championship with more than the purpose of simply filling in for Francis Ngannou as the heavyweight champion since The Predator left the promotion. Initially, the heavyweight battle was scheduled to take place between Bon Gamin and Francis.

“I locked it up twice. The first time, I could hear his spine popping. I gave him a nice chiropractic adjustment. The second time, he didn’t want that same ratchet on his neck, and I put my arm on his neck and choked him out. I didn’t expect it to go that quickly, but that’s what we were looking for, the win and domination.” said Jones.

Later when questioned about his strategy for taking on the French Heavyweight, the two-division champ said he was confident he could win if he got Gane to the ground because wrestling is his strongest weapon.
