Cristiano Ronaldo took to social media following Al Nassr’s loss to Saudi Pro League championship rivals Al Ittihad to share a subtle message. The message has sent fans wondering as to the purpose of the message.
The former Manchester United legend led his new side to their second loss in Jeddah since moving to Saudi Arabia. Former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s team Al Ittihad jumped ahead of their city rivals with a goal from Romarinho in the 80th minute. Both defeats came against Al Ittihad.
In January, Al-Ittihad eliminated Al-Nassr from the Saudi Super Cup. With 10 games remaining, one point separates the two clubs atop the table halfway through the season, and Ronaldo has now emphasized the importance of focusing on what counts for the next games.

Earlier, just after the defeat, Ronaldo didn’t hide his disappointment at the loss. He shared a photo of the team huddling, and the caption read, “Disappointed with the result, but we stay focused on our season and the games ahead. Thank you Al Nassr fans for your support, we know we can count on you!”

Al Nassr lacked any attacking threat in that game, and Ronaldo was visibly frustrated. It was made worse when the crowd in the stadium started chanting his rival Lionel Messi’s name, causing him to raise his hands in confusion.
As the match ended, he kicked some water bottles in anger, and when his teammates came to console him, he simply left. He then came back to applaud the fans for their support showing some class.

Ronaldo signed a massive contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr after leaving Manchester United due to a controversial interview with Piers Morgan in November. He became the world’s highest-paid player and has enjoyed a lot of freedom in the new country.
