On Monday night, the Philadelphia 76ers took on the Denver Nuggets in what was supposed to be a highly anticipated showdown between two of the NBA’s most dominant big men – Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic. Unfortunately, Embiid was forced to sit out of the game due to a calf injury, much to the disappointment of fans.
However, some young Nuggets fans found a way to turn the situation into a hilarious trolling opportunity, creating ‘missing persons’ posters for Embiid and plastering them all over Denver.
Embiid has been a dominant force for the Sixers this season, averaging a league-leading 33.3 points per game, as well as 10.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. However, he was ruled out of the Nuggets clash due to a calf injury, which he sustained after working out earlier in the day. This was Embiid’s 14th missed game of the season, leading some fans to question whether he is running from a matchup with Jokic in Denver.
Nuggets Fans Troll Embiid with Hilarious Posters
Despite Embiid’s absence, fans were still looking forward to seeing Jokic and Embiid go head-to-head on the court. However, some young Nuggets fans saw an opportunity to troll Embiid and create some humorous posters that mocked him for being absent. The posters included descriptions like ‘No MVPS, No first team All-Stars, Tall’ – much to the amusement of other fans.

Unfortunately for the Sixers, Embiid’s absence proved to be too much to overcome, as they suffered their fourth loss in their last five games. The Nuggets ended up winning the game 116-111, with Jokic once again proving to be the star of the show with another dominant triple-double performance. Jokic finished the game with 25 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists.
When Did Joel Embiid Last Play Against the Nuggets in Denver?
Interestingly, it has been a while since Embiid last played against the Nuggets in Denver. His last game against the Nuggets in Denver was in November 2019, during which he finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 0 steals, 1 block, and 8 turnovers on 6-17 shooting.
Jokic hit the game-winning shot and finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks on 10-22 shooting. Embiid’s absence from Monday night’s game in Denver has only fueled speculation about whether he is avoiding the matchup with Jokic in Denver.
Despite the absence of Embiid, the Nuggets were able to secure an impressive victory over the Sixers, much to the delight of their fans. Embiid’s injury and subsequent absence may have given some fans a reason to mock him, but it remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to face Jokic and the Nuggets in the future.
