Neymar Jr is one of the richest footballers on the planet with one of the best-paying contracts. His reaction after losing € 1 million showed how rich the Brazilian is.
After being declared out for the remainder of the season due to a foot injury sustained in February, the 31-year-old forward has turned to poker. Neymar most recently sank €1 million while gambling online on Tuesday night, but the Paris Saint-Germain forward appeared unaffected. The Brazilian responded rather amusingly to losing that large amount of money after nearly two hours of online gambling by pretending to perform a sad melody on a flute.
What was Neymar’s reaction after he lost €1 million?
At first, he faked crying and screaming a bit. He then played the Titanic theme for humor and then uttered “Oh f**k” before laughing at his own misfortune. A friend could then be heard in the background saying “from a million to zero in 60 minutes”. Neymar then joked saying, “I’m going to put this on YouTube.”

It seems €1 million is nothing for the Brazilian superstar.
One Twitter user understood the hilarious aspect as he wrote, “My guy is confused whether to laugh or cry”.
Another was less pleased and wrote, “irresponsible af”.
After joining PSG in 2017, Neymar became the most expensive athlete in history. His yearly pay with Les Parisiens is €33.5 million, and he presently earns more than €600,000 per week. This is all before the various sponsorships and endorsement deals he has.
What next for the Brazilian Superstar Neymar?
The Parisians have been encouraged to sell the 31-year-old forward after his form for the club deteriorated following the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Neymar’s current contract with PSG ends in 2025, but the Brazilian superstar has stated that he wants to remain in Paris beyond next year. PSG are facing UEFA sanctions and may have to free up its massive wage bill this summer.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Neymar wants to keep playing at the French club.
The reporter wrote that “Neymar is often linked with a return to Barcelona and moves elsewhere, but he has stayed at PSG and that looks set to remain the case — because the 31-year-old wants to finish his career there.”
He also speaks about Neymar’s wish to succeed in the Champions League with them, “Neymar’s wish is to finish his playing days with PSG and help them achieve further success, particularly in the one tournament they are yet to conquer.”
When you look at Neymar’s huge earnings at PSG, it’s not surprising to see why the Brazilian wants to keep playing there.
