As we inch closer to this main event middleweight title fight, numerous fans and fighters are giving their opinions on the two fighters. Speaking about which, former WBC interim lightweight champion Ryan Garcia shared his thoughts on the new middleweight champion Alex Pereira.
While having a conversation with Logan Paul during the Impaulsive podcast, the American boxer showered praise on Pereira’s punching power and also stated that the Brazilian fights like a Terminator.
Garcia said “That guy, he’s scary. I don’t even think I would even wanna be near this man. He’s just a destroyer… He fights like a terminator. It’s weird, bro. That dude, he’s something else.”
Ryan Garcia believes that Alex Pereira is the only other fighter who throws a hook like him
Since making his debut in the UFC in 2021, Alex Pereira has quickly risen through the ranks and has taken the middleweight division by storm. The Brazilian fighter has won three out of his four fights by knockout and has rightfully become the UFC middleweight champion.
Interestingly, Alex Pereira was en route to suffering his first UFC loss against Israel Adesanya in his last matchup as he was dominated by the latter on the feet as well on the ground. However, Poatan made an incredible comeback with his explosive left hook and won the belt via stoppage in the fifth round.
Following his terrific showing at UFC 281, Alex Pereira will look to defend his title for the first time against Israel Adesanya this weekend at UFC 287. Ahead of this middleweight title bout, American boxing star Ryan Garcia spoke about the Brazilian champion’s technique in his recent appearance at Impaulsive podcast.
“You know what’s crazy though? I’ve never seen somebody throw a hook like me, but Pereira does throw a hook like me. He throws it where you don’t really use your legs too much. You just, ‘Whack!’
So far Poatan has established his dominance over former champion Israel Adesanya inside the octagon. However, this rematch will be an even bigger test for Alex Pereira as The Stylebender is hungrier and is seeking revenge after the former handed him his first loss in the middleweight division.
