The legendary Ayrton Senna is the three-time world champion whom Fernando Alonso idolizes. When Alonso got to drive Senna’s iconic MP4/4 back in 2015, he explained that he likely would not have become an F1 driver without the inspiration of Senna.
Alonso has mentioned many times how every kid idolized Senna, who was dominating F1 with McLaren when Alonso started karting. The 41-year-old seems to have been inspired by Senna’s driving style and traits as well. Like Senna, Alonso is known for pushing the car beyond its limit and placing the car exactly where he wants it.

Fernando Alonso surely aims to add another similarity between himself and Senna – a third-world championship. His move to Aston Martin appears to be paying dividends as he has already scored 3 podiums in 3 races. He expects that things will only improve from here.
A video recently surfaced on Twitter, in which someone asked Fernando Alonso if he still hopes to equal Ayrton Senna’s record of three world championships. The two-time world champion replied that he still believes it is possible and that is why he keeps racing. Despite knowing it will be difficult, he aims for the top and does not let that stop him.
In the Twitter video uploaded by Aston Martin F1 Updates, Fernando Alonso stated, “Always I believe it is possible. That’s why I keep racing. Obviously, you know the challenge is big, and you know that you need to overcome some difficulties and some top teams that are on top of the sport. But yeah, I race every day and train every day thinking that the third title is possible”
Although winning the championship this season may be a far-fetched idea for the 41-year-old, race wins are certainly within reach. Alonso has not won a race in over a decade, but with the AMR23 performing exceptionally well, the entire F1 community has taken to Twitter with the “como 33” trend, expecting Alonso to soon win his 33rd race.
