“I love this f****** sport. I’m a multi-millionaire. I can say I’m good for life now”: Jorge Masvidal proclaims a goodbye forever after losing against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287

Gilbert Burns outclassed Jorge Masvidal throughout the three rounds to pick an emphatic unanimous decision victory in the co-main event of UFC 287. This defeat means that Gamebred suffered his fourth consecutive loss in the promotion and all his hopes for a title shot pretty much came crashing down.

Masvidal looked very sluggish during this fight and was unable to stop Durinho’s takedown attempts. Moreover, Burns landed powerful strikes and dominated the striking battle as well. Following Gamebred’s defeat at UFC 287, the former title challenger hung up his gloves and announced his retirement in the post-fight interview.

Jorge Masvidal apologized to his hometown fans who were in attendance to support him and indicated that he is not feeling great and its time to retire after 20 years of fighting.

“I love everybody here. This is where I started my career, it’s been a long 20 years, 50-some fights. Sometimes your favorite basketball player don’t have that 3-pointer no more. Your favorite quarterback loses that rifle. I don’t feel the same when I get in here no more. It’s been 20 long years. I love this f****** sport. I’m a multi-millionaire. I didn’t start with nothing. I can say I’m good for life now.”
