Conor McGregor hits-back after being left off Khabib Nurmagomedov’s top 15 MMA GOAT list

Conor McGregor’s long-standing disdain for Khabib Nurmagomedov remains unabated, as does their fierce competition. Nurmagomedov’s recent ranking of the greatest MMA fighters of all time served as the impetus for McGregor’s most recent assault.

Although more than four years have passed since their infamous UFC rivalry, McGregor’s animosity toward Khabib persists.

Despite no longer being in the same organization, members of both fighters’ camps continue to engage in heated exchanges online. Indicating that the rivalry between them is still as strong as ever.

Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor

McGregor was defeated by ‘The Eagle’ via fourth-round submission at UFC 229, over four years ago. Nurmagomedov retired from MMA two years later. Prompting ‘The Notorious’ to claim that he missed out on the opportunity for a blockbuster rematch.

Khabib compiled an MMA ‘GOAT’ list, which included fighters who have cemented their legacies in the sport, both past and present.

Some fans were surprised by McGregor’s exclusion from the list. Especially since Jose Aldo, whom Conor had fought before, was included.

“My MMA GOAT Top 15: 1) Fedor/Jones 2) GSP 3) Anderson Silva 4) Demetrious Johnson 5) Daniel Cormier 6) Henry Cejudo 7) Jose Aldo 8) Kamaru Usman 9) Adesanya 10) B.J. Penn 11) Royce Graice 12) Couture/Velasquez 13) Hendo/Shogun 14) CroCop/Miocic 15) Dominic Cruz/Frankie Edgar”

McGregor, as anticipated, replied to Nurmagomedov’s list and pointed out that he retired early in a tweet that has since been deleted. “In the end it’s who’s left. Don’t forget. God bless Tidl Sports Science.”

The greatest MMA fighter of all time according to Conor McGregor

McGregor is commonly acknowledged as one of the most impactful fighters in the history of mixed martial arts. His impact on the sport and its portrayal to fans, media, and the general public is noteworthy.

No other fighter has accomplished what he has in terms of setting new records and elevating the popularity of the sport. UFC President Dana White, along with many others, views him as one of the top competitors in the sport. Due to his savvy business sense and his contributions to increasing the sport’s mainstream appeal.

In a past tweet, Conor expressed his belief that former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is the “Greatest of All Time” in MMA. The Irishman placed himself as a close runner-up. With former two-division champion Georges St-Pierre taking the third spot.
