Harry Kane has been asked by fans on social media to leave Tottenham Hotspur after the club suffered a humiliating 6-1 loss to Newcastle United.
Spurs were behind by three goals before the game had even reached the ten-minute mark. Jacob Murphy started the goal fest in the second minute and then Joelinton extended the advantage in the sixth minute.
Murphy completed his double in the ninth minute. Alexander Isak quickly joined the party, scoring in the 19th and 21st minutes of the game to complete a quick brace. The North London team was behind 5-0 at halftime when the halftime whistle blew.
While Harry Kane pulled one back early in the second half, Callum Wilson’s strike pushed the score 6-1 to Newcastle’s advantage.
Harry Kane to leave?
Harry Kane has been widely linked with a summer departure from Tottenham Hotspur. The England captain is the club’s all-time leading goalscorer. He has accomplished numerous spectacular feats throughout his time there. He has played in a Champions League final and had a title race in the 2014-15 season.
In his senior career, he has yet to win a trophy. Kane is already 29 years old, therefore the time is running out for him. As a result, the attacker may seek to join a club that will provide him with more possibilities to win trophies.
Daniel Levy, on the other hand, has stated that Kane can win trophies with Tottenham. According to him (via GOAL), he said, “He can absolutely win a trophy at Spurs… But being a legend is also important. The fact that he’s the top scorer of Tottenham Hotspur, he’s making history. I hope one day that there is a statue of Harry Kane outside our stadium.”
Harry Kane is said to be prioritizing a move to another Premier League club rather than overseas. He wants to keep chasing the Premier League goalscoring record set by Alan Shearer. Kane is being chased by both Chelsea and Manchester United, both needing a pure striker. Aborad there is interest from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain.
Kane could leave for a fee between £80-100 million fee. But Daniel Levy may not let him leave.
Kane’s contract runs out in 2024 and he is yet to renew his contract there. Many fans were quick to state their desire to see Kane leave Tottenham after the devastating game.

Tottenham had previously fired manager Antonio Conte. They have now also fired interim coach Cristian Stellini and now Ryan Mason will take over until the end of the season. It remains to be seen what happens to Harry Kane. For now, Kane will now have to host Manchester United on Friday in a top 4 clash in the Premier League.
