Ben DiNucci, a former star quarterback for the Cowboys, is given a chance by the Denver Broncos to make a successful comeback in the NFL following his efforts at the team’s minicamp.
DiNucci began his NFL career after the Dallas Cowboys picked him out of James Madison University in the seventh round, 231st overall, of the 2020 NFL Draft. However, the quarterback only spent a brief amount of time in the NFL, appearing in three games for the Cowboys, starting one of them, before being released in 2022.
After ending his tenure with the Cowboys, the 26-year-old, started his next chapter of career in XFL after he was drafted by the XFL’s Seattle Sea Dragons.
Broncos made room for the former Cowboys’ star quarterback
Every player’s dream is to play in the NFL, and those who have experienced that excitement firsthand are well aware of it. Ben was among the veterans who tried out for the team during the rookie mini-camp because he had a brief career in the NFL and was obviously unhappy.
However, Sean Paytons’ team was aware of the quarterback’s efforts and the hunger in his eyes to make an outstanding comeback in the league once more. The Broncos finally took action to give him another chance by signing the former Dallas Cowboys star player. Adam Schefter of ESPN made the report, but no information about the deal was made public.

This a smart move for the Paytons’ team because the Broncos are making sure they have the star XFL backup quarterback in place in case Russel Wilson were to ever get injured. The head coach, however, recently made light of the possibility that the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback might wind up working at Walmart after spotting him in the camp.
The former XFL star led the Sea Dragons to 7-3 records while never giving up hope and constantly attempting to keep himself on course. Over the course of his time with Seattle, he passed for 2,671 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
The quarterback had an outstanding career overall and threw for 4,269 yards, a WPIAL record. He was the first player in Pennsylvania history to accumulate more than 4,000 yards in this way.
Nevertheless, with the signing, the former Sea Dragons’ star quarterback found a new home in the NFL, and the Cowboys’ team also found a new backup quarterback to play behind Wilson.
