This week, Joe Fournier winning streak in professional boxing came to an end due to an illegal elbow strike from KSI. Instead of putting an end to the debate by admitting the defeat, Joe is suing Misfits Boxing and the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
At the Misfits Boxing 7 event in London’s OVO Arena on Sunday night, KSI and Fournier’s much anticipated boxing bout took place. The fatal elbow strike from KSI on Fournier shook the boxing world. This is what sparked controversy because the officials decided to ignore the elbow strike and proclaimed KSI the winner.

Has Joe Fournier brought a formal complaint against KSI yet?
Joe spoke with MMA Fighting on Monday after the bout and lamented the outcome of the bout. The 40-year-old boxer is unambiguous of the opinion that KSI shouldn’t have won and that a comprehensive investigation is required.
“This elbow needs to be brought to justice. Elbow-gate, [but] they’re going to want to move onto the next fight to Tommy Fury, and they’re not going to want no rematch because they’re kind of pretending none of this happened.”
The wealthy businessman has now formally complained to the body that approved the Misfits Boxing 7 event at London’s OVO Arena, the Professional Boxers Association. The Association will thoroughly review the Elbow-gate incident to determine if KSI committed an error or not. After a thorough review, a decision will be made by Friday.

At this time in his life, Fournier is unsure if he will continue his professional boxing career, but he believes that if necessary, the right authorities will take the appropriate steps by saying, “I hope both [Misfits Boxing and Professional Boxing Association] do the right thing and show their integrity to the sport of boxing!!”
Not just Joe and his team, but also a number of well-known boxers and boxing fans spoke out against the divisive decision. Many of them believe that KSI shouldn’t have been announced the winner and that there should have been a No Contest or Disqualification instead.
