The NFL icon Tom Brady’s beloved friend and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star tight end Rob Gronkowski bid adieu to his phenomenal career in June 2022 following the first time retirement announcement of Brady, albeit unlike Brady he didn’t take a U-turn and remained out the field to focus on his business ventures with his family.
However, the end of his career as a player doesn’t mark the end of his support for the sport, and the Bucs legend, known for his entertaining personality, recently surprised fans by expressing his admiration for the NBA team Denver Nuggets’ star center Nikola Jokic and also drew a funny comparison between him and the basketball star.
Rob Gronkowski’s hilarious praise of Jokic
During a recent appearance on the “Up & Adams Show” on FanDuel TV, Rob revealed his favorite NBA team and player ahead of the NBA Finals,
“My favorite team and favorite player now is the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic. He is my favorite player by far. I love watching him.”
However, Gronk’s praise took an amusing twist when he hilariously mentioned Jokic as his lost brother saying, “He is like my long-lost brother, that is better-looking than me but has a bigger nose. I love watching him play.”
Well, not just him. Many fans also drew similarities between these two stars over time.

The four-time NFL First-Team All-Pro heaped praises on the Nuggets squad praising their team effort and mentioning his excitement to witness the long-awaited final matches,
“I love the Denver Nuggets. They play together like a team, and I just can’t wait for these Finals. I think the Nuggets are gonna take it all. But the [Miami] Heat are gonna win two games.”
What is Nikola Jokic’s nationality?
Arguably the best center in the league at the moment, Nikola was born on February 19, 1995, at Sombor, Serbia.
He kicked off his NBA career in 2014 and quickly established himself as a hero on the court by finishing 3rd in the Rookie of the Year voting as well as inking the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
The 28-year-old moonlighted as a hero by becoming the first player in the Denver squad and the first center since the Hall of Fame Shaquille O Neal to get the title of the NBA’s Most Valuable Player. He also discovered his name next to the NBA icon Kareem Abdul Jabbar to score at least 50 points and 10 assists.
Gronkowski has now retired but Nikola is still continuing his career, however, the former NFL star’s hilarious comparison as well as huge compliments highlight the bond that transcends the boundaries of sport, bringing players from different backgrounds and fans together through shared admiration.
