Manuel Torres is well on his path to becoming the next big Mexican superstar in the UFC. To make a point, Torres performed the iconic John Cena celebration following tonight’s convincing victory over Nikolas Motta at UFC Vegas 75.
On June 17, 2023, at the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada, the UFC on ESPN 47 event headlining Vettori vs. Cannonier took place.
During the octagon interview, Torres expressed his wish by saying, he wants a “second bonus” and “the first Mexican to get two bonuses.”
Manuel Torres rise in UFC
Torres, who came to UFC after a stunning knockout victory in the Contender Series, is currently standing at 14-2-0. ‘El Loco’ joined the UFC about a year ago and this is his second consecutive win.

With a five-fight win streak, the 28-year-old fighter is certainly making a name for himself in the lightweight division. With today’s fascinating elbow knockout, Torres got his 12th first-round finish out of his 14 career victories.
Can Manuel Torres be next Mexican star in UFC?
Many outstanding Mexican MMA fighters are now having excellent success in the UFC. The gold strap is currently being held by three fighters from three separate weight classes.

Yair Rodriguez, who holds the interim featherweight title, is well known for his explosive fighting style and outstanding hitting abilities. Next, El Pantera will fight Alexander Volkanovski in a title unification bout.
Another excellent fighter is Brandon Moreno, who made history in 2021 by becoming the first fighter of Mexican descent to win a UFC championship. The Assassin Baby, with the gold strap currently in his possession, is now a two-time flyweight champ.
The current flyweight champion in the women’s division is also a Mexican. Alexa Grasso, who began her career in the strawweight class, took the flyweight title from Valentina Shevchenko in her most recent match displaying precise striking and strong all-around abilities.
