In the 2023 NFL Draft, the Bears signed T.J. Edwards. Known for his great tackling ability, he is a reliable player. He has also taken notice of another player in the team which he thinks is similar to Jalen Hurts.
Recently he talked about Justin Fields, praising him, and shared how he thinks he has a lot of similarities with the Eagles QB.
T.J. Edwards compares Fields to Hurts
In a recent interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Edwards mentioned the calm nature of Fields which he thinks makes him a reliable leader similar to Jalen Hurts.
“One thing with Jalen (Hurts) was he was always just kind of calm and collected. That’s why we looked to him so much, just because he was always that calming factor. You do see similarities with (Justin) Fields.”
Edwards highlighted Fields’ strong arm and impressive accuracy, noting that the young quarterback has been making plays consistently throughout the practices.
“Dude’s got such a strong arm, and he’s been very accurate just about this entire OTAs and minicamp,” the linebacker said. “It’s exciting to see, especially since he doesn’t really add in the leg factor when we’re just in helmets and things like that. So, I’m really excited to play with a guy like that, a guy who can make all the plays who can also lead this team. He’s definitely the guy. It’s exciting to be around, no doubt.”

This comparison shows that Edwards has confidence in Fields and believes that like Hurts he’ll be a great addition to the Bears.

T.J. Edwards, a linebacker, recently made the move from the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles to the three-win Chicago Bears. He has signed a 3-year deal with the Bears.
Edwards proved to be an exceptional player for the Eagles. He helped the team reach Super Bowl LVII and also secured several achievements during his tenure.
