In the conversation of occupying a seat as an NFL official, Troy Aikman, the former Dallas star’s name was always in the front row. Moreover, many cast a shadow of concrete hope that he will soon walk the path of a General Manager. However, the football dared to blow out the rays of their expectations calling his time to be out to hold such a position.
This Cowboys legend recently dismissed every bit of confusion that people had concerning his stepping into the chair of a GM. Troy who is currently acting as a sports commentator, seems to be content with his job with no time to waste on the field.
Troy Aikman ditches the idea of being GM
The former NFL can be introduced in a myriad of ways as he touched the ceiling of success during his active days. Troy is a three times Super Bowl winner, six times Pro Bowl to name a few.
Lately, during a radio show appearance, this Dallas legend was asked about his post-broadcaster plan, and what he wants to do after saying goodbye to his current career. At this, the NFL Man of the Year talks about his passion to do something for the community and the youth.
However, becoming a GM at this time of life was never included on his To-Do list. According to Troy Aikman, “There’s still a part of me, I think, that down the road — the talk has always come up about whether or not I want to be a general manager. And I think that has passed.
But there may come a time that I’d be interested in just helping out with a club, with an organization, and not necessarily in an official capacity. I think that would be enjoyable”.
What are the present activities of the former Cowboys QB?
In the same vein as his illuminating playing career, this Dallas force has rocked his post-retirement period very well. Upon packing the bag from the league in 2000, he joined Fox a year later as a color commentator.
To this day, he took participation in six Super Bowl broadcasting and his talents offered him an Emmy Award Nomination in 2004.
Besides, his engagement with Fox, Troy also telecast a radio show on Sporting News Radio once a week.
