Just recently the NFL witnessed an interesting moment following the draft of the Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn in the sixth round of the NFL by the Kansas City Chiefs. Deuce’s father Chris Vaughn is the team’s assistant director of college scouting and he was the first one to inform his son of the draft news via phone, allowing fans to witness an overwhelmed father-son duo moment.
The Jacksonville Jaguars let the NFL fans witness another father-son duo by deciding to sign the emerging tight end Josh Pederson. Though fans didn’t get to see a touching moment like the senior and junior Vaughn, they can eagerly wait to witness some lovely moments of the senior and junior Pederson in the time ahead.
Jaguars signs promising TE Josh Pederson
The Jaguars signed Josh on Monday to let him take over the position of undrafted rookie Leonard Taylor, albeit he could go under difficulties to be an opener for the team in the presence of Evan Engram, Brenton Strange, Luke Farrell, and Gerrit Prince.

The young star just finished the USFL season with the Houston Gamblers before terminating his ongoing contract a few days ago to start his journey with an NFL team and caught 24 passes for 325 yards throughout 10 games in Houston. He also caught 99 passes for 1,191 yards along with 11 TDs with the Warhawks.
Josh headed to the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2021 and spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, and Kansas City Chiefs since his college career.
Who is HC Doug Pederson?
Doug Pederson has been the head coach for the Jaguars since 2022 and the franchise compiled a 9-8-0 record under his guidance. He started his duty as a head coach with the Philadelphia Eagles and compiled a record of 42-37-1 before being fired by the franchise in 2021.
The Eagles and the Jaguars combined for a record of 51-45-1 throughout his seven seasons tenure as an HC including going 5-3-0 in the playoffs. Before being the main NFL coach, he served seven years as an assistant coach for the Chiefs HC Andy Reid after being an offensive coordinator in 2015.
How Josh’s upcoming season will unfold is yet to be seen, albeit playing under the guidance of his father might create an extra pressure on him.
