Just a few days ago, the Green Bay Packers pulled off one the biggest and most exciting trades by sending their long-time quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets to pave the way for their young quarterback Jordan Love as their QB1 in the upcoming season.
Love gained the trust of the Packers after recording six of nine passes for 113 yards and a touchdown in a 40–33 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022 and finishing the game with a 146.8 passer rating when Rodgers was on injured reserve. Nevertheless, the Packers are reportedly thinking to involve in another QB trade to include a promising backup star in their roster.

After being drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft, Jordan Love quickly established his worth on the field to gain so much trust of the Packers that they didn’t think much before bidding adieu to their 18-year-veteran A-Rod. They also included the former Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford in the fifth round of this year’s draft.
Jordan has been playing as a backup QB for three years now and Sean is yet to prove his caliber. Amid potential issues regarding the Packers quarterback situation, Heavy projected a potential trade between San Francisco and Green Bay to move the 49ers QB Sam Darnold to the latter team,
“Love definitely deserves a shot after waiting the better part of three years, but the reality is that the Packers’ QBs have one total start between the two. Darnold may not be the next Aaron Rodgers, but he can at least step into a regular-season game and feel familiar to the situation.”
Nevertheless, the 49ers themselves have been plagued by injuries after losing Jimmy Garoppolo to the Las Vegas Raiders as well as both Trey Lance and Brock Purdy struggled with injuries, leading them to sign Darnold this offseason. So, they might be banking on the football star for a short time.

Darnold played for three NFL teams: the New York Jets (2018-20), Carolina Panthers (2021-22), and the San Francisco 49ers (2023- present).
The signal-caller started his NFL career after being selected by Gang Green in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft as the third overall selection and was traded to the Panthers in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round pick along with second- as well as fourth-round picks in 2022.
The 26-year-old recorded 1,054 of 1,765 passing attempts for 11,767 yards, 61 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 78.2 along with 188 carries for 745 yards and 12 touchdowns throughout his five-year tenure in Big Apple and Carolina. He later signed a one-year deal with the 49ers in 2023.
Whether Matt LaFleur will pursue Sam or Kyle Shanahan keeps him in San Francisco is yet to be seen, but one thing is sure: he has not enjoyed the best coaching or leadership in the league. With the new season approaching soon, the quarterback will hopefully be able to earn the trust of his new team and earn fans’ hearts on the field.
