Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers were once engaged, with the former being at the peak of her career and the latter leading the Green Bay Packers deep into the playoffs. But their relationship ended, with Woodley reportedly making out with an A–List actress and Rodgers getting over her with a self–proclaimed witch, whom Woodley ended up feuding with.
Despite the wide age gap, Rodgers has now moved on with 26–year–old Mallory Edens, Milwaukee Bucks heiress, and this has stirred up some emotions in Woodley.
Woodley revealed that her new role in the TV adaptation of Lisa Taddeo’s book, Three Women, allowed her to work through her sadness over her last relationship.
She said, “It was hard to film because I was going through the darkest, hardest time in my life; it was winter in New York, and my personal life was sh**ty, so it felt like a big pain bubble for eight months. I was so grateful that at least I could go to work and cry and process my emotions through my character.”
Woodley didn’t mention Rodgers or Edens by name, but it was an open secret in Hollywood that their relationship ended on very bad terms. It was also no coincidence that Woodley’s interview with Porter Magazine was released at the same time as Rodgers and Edens’ relationship went public.
Seeing Rodgers bounce back with Edens in the way he has clearly was just salt being rubbed on the wound for Woodley.
Meanwhile, Rodgers has largely ignored his former fiancée as far as public comments go. He has offered more insight into how he feels about Danica Patrick than Woodley. It’s clear that there are still some raw feelings there.
But as the weeks turn into months and months turn into years, Woodley, Rodgers, and Edens will likely move past this. Time heals all.
