Earlier this year, it was rumored that Al-Hilal had offered seven times Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi a gargantuan deal worth $600 million to sign him this summer. That didn’t work out well, and they missed out on the 2022 World Cup-winning captain as he decided to sign for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami.
Now, in an attempt to recover from this setback, the club is reportedly looking to bring in another Superstar, Messi’s ex-teammate, Brazilian winger Neymar.

Saudi Arabia seeks European Lionel Messi alternatives
Former Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal have reportedly switched their attention to Neymar. CBS Sports reports that agents for Al-Hilal are currently in Paris negotiating a contract with the world’s most expensive footballer, Neymar. This comes just after 2022-23 Saudi Pro League champion Al-Ittihad confirmed the signing of Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema.
The league is trying to attract soccer’s biggest superstars in an attempt to boost the league, and they believe that they will be able to persuade even more big names after five times Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr earlier this year.
What is Neymar’s next move after PSG?
The 31-year-old attacker still has two years remaining on his contract with Paris Saint-Germain; however, he is reportedly seeking a move away from Paris and is ready to lower his wages for his former club, FC Barcelona, to be able to purchase him.
Earlier this year, PSG fans protested in front of Neymar’s Paris residence, demanding that the player move away from PSG. This could have led the Brazilian superstar to want to move away from Paris.
Similar to Messi, switching to the MLS isn’t a bad option for Neymar either. Allegedly, Messi decided to join Inter Miami to prepare for the upcoming Copa America 2024, which will be hosted in the USA. Since Neymar is sure to participate (given that he’s fit), he can also opt for a move to the MLS to get used to American conditions.
Nevertheless. PSG has stated that they are ready to listen to offers for Neymar. It will be interesting to see where he will play next season.
