After stunning Aljamain Sterling KO at UFC 292, Sean O’Malley gets fresh ‘champ’ facial tattoo for winning bantamweight title

Sean O’Malley defeated Aljamain Sterling to be crowned as the new bantamweight champion at UFC 292, on August 19. The new bantamweight champion defeated the former bantamweight champ within 51 seconds of the third round. Sean O’Malley aka “The Sugar Show” already has a lot of tattoos on his body and hinted he would get another face tattoo after his massive title win.

The new bantamweight champion also celebrated by smoking weed in front of the mirror with the title belt on his left shoulder mimicking former two-division champ ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor.

Suga’, who already had a few tattoos on his face and many more all over his body, previously said he was planning to get more tattoos to celebrate his UFC 292 victory.

“I might get ‘champ’ on my face somewhere,” O’Malley said during a post-fight press conference before following through with his plan a few days later. The new ink on Sean O’Malley’s face should serve as a reminder of him knocking out Aljamain Sterling cold and lifting the bantamweight title.

Sean O’Malley wins bantamweight title with dazzling Aljamain Sterling KO

Sean O’Malley fought reigning champ Aljamain Sterling for the UFC bantamweight championship at the main event of UFC 292. Sean defeated Aljamain Sterling within 51 seconds of the third round with a KO/TKO. After a slow first round in which neither fighter really took the lead, O’Malley dropped the former champion with a wonderful counter right hand to become the new champ.

In the post-match interview, O’Malley admitted to being a little hesitant to engage owing to the respect that he had for Sterling. That explains the relatively slow first round as O’Malley waited for the right opportunity to throw the counter.

Sterling rushed O’Malley and Suga made him pay for it. The flush right hand put him on the ground and the new champ just needed a few ground strikes to get the ref to wave off the bout. The former Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling held the title belt for over a year after which it was snatched in style by Sean.

Now the newly titled champ has a lot of high-profile prospects like Henry ‘Triple C’ Cejudo, Cory Sandhagen, Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera, and Merab ‘The Machine’ Dvalishvili waiting on the line. Sean himself has called for a December matchup against Chito considering the reigning champ’s only career loss was against the Ecuadorian.
