After Tyson Fury snubbed Saudi tournament Eddie Hearn hints Oleksandr Usyk’s next opponent on Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder undercard

Eddie Hearn almost came close to unveiling the upcoming bout schedule for Oleksandr Usyk following the disappointment of the much-anticipated heavyweight showdown with Tyson Fury not taking place.

After so much back and forth there remains a slight possibility that discussions for the highly anticipated showdown between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will resume in December.

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury’s rivalry

The highly anticipated showdown between “The Cat” and “ “The Gipsy King,” initially scheduled for April 29, has been postponed due to numerous technical challenges. This delay has fueled a heated rivalry between the two heavyweight fighters, leading to a series of verbal exchanges.

At the eleventh hour, Usyk presented a proposal to salvage the fight, but with a condition that he would receive a 30-70 split. Furthermore, there was a change in the fight’s location, shifting from Saudi Arabia to Wembley Stadium in London.

However, still, the negotiations between the two sides failed to reach a consensus on these issues. Their respective managers are still engaging in a war of words, which seems to be further intensifying the animosity between the fighters.

Oleksandr Usyk’s next opponent

Over the past two years, the Ukrainian heavyweight fighter has had only two bouts, both against Anthony Joshua. The Ukrainian boxer was looking forward to defending his title in a mandatory fight against Daniel Dubois scheduled for the upcoming summer.

However, Eddie revealed that Usyk will fight on the same card as Anthony Joshua next. The British boxing promoter thinks Filip Hrgovic probably is going to be the opponent for Usyk in Saudi Arabia.

“If he [Usyk] doesn’t fight an undisputed fight that’s the fight he will have to fight, given the ruling from the governing body,” Eddie stated.

Previously, the managers representing Usyk (Egis Klimas) and Fury (Frank Warren) engaged in a war of words. Both boxing promoters confidently claimed that their respective fighter would generate greater revenue from the fight compared to the other.

On the other hand, Tyson Fury, who is actively seeking a match for this summer, has been teasing his fans with hints about an upcoming match.
