Regarding Tuesday Night War, wrestling fans witnessed WWE NXT taking on AEW Dynamite in a significant TV rating battle. Numbers have finally come in, and, as expected, WWE emerged as the winner. With the news that WWE would be sending its biggest stars to NXT for the first time, the result was already anticipated, and WWE NXT made it a reality.
Evidently, the final result is not to Tony Khan’s liking. Twitter shared a picture of Shawn Michaels from NXT with a “Booker of the Year” award to honor the most recent NXT show. However, as the graphic shows, Tony Khan was not pleased with Michaels’ booking efforts.
Tony Khan’s forecast on WWE icon Shwan Michaels
Due to the rescheduling of AEW’s events, WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite faced off on October 10. Both programs featured well-known wrestlers, with AEW introducing fans to Adam Copeland and NXT welcoming megastars such as of John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and The Undertaker.
Tony Khan, the President of AEW, joined a Twitter discussion where wrestling fans were rating the quality of the programs. He trolled Shawn Michaels by responding to a tweet about the latter’s “Booker of the Year” award. Khan stated that after what happened last night, Michaels “might not win that award.”
Twitter users had a great time responding to Khan’s message, with many making jokes of his repeated digs at Michaels and others noting that Michaels probably doesn’t give a hoot about honors.
However, after the rating passed, the AEW president thanked those who watched their program on TV that night. TK wrote, “Thank you all who watch @AEWonTV! On any other Wednesday, #AEWDynamite would be on TBS now!”
WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite show ratings
Both events’ marketing went all out to surprise the audience. AEW had their first-ever in-ring appearance by Edge on their “Title Tuesday” card, which included many championship fights. Saraya was defeated by Hikaru Shida in the AEW women’s title match.
On “Title Tuesday,” the ratings came in before the main event between WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite. NXT’s average viewership of 991,000 marked a 7.5% increase from the previous week, making it the highest since September 25, 2019. Meanwhile, AEW Dynamite’s average viewers fell to 731,000, reflecting a 23.9% decrease from the previous week.
Many WWE’s biggest names, including John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Asuka, Rhea Ripley, and LA Knight, were featured on NXT. The Undertaker himself showed up to give Bron Breakker a chokeslam. Both of them started the evening off with at least 30 minutes of commercial-free content.
