Al-Nassr suffered some demoralizing defeats in recent times, which eventually led to the resignation of the club’s president, Musalli Al-Mutammar. Amid all the hiatus, the club has denied the allegations of the former president being “cheated” by the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The five times Ballon d’Or winner joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 following a fallout with his former club, Manchester United. Cristiano has scored 11 goals in 14 games for the club, but that hasn’t been enough to spark a run at the Saudi Pro League title. The team was also knocked out of the King Cup of Champions in the semi final.

According to reports, a high-ranking board member of the club condemned Ronaldo’s performance. His quotes were:
”I have only been cheated twice in my life, the first time when I asked for three kebabs they gave me only two, the second time when I signed Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Al-Nassr has directly refuted the claims. The club’s press adviser, Walid Al-Muhaidib, has insisted that the quotes are completely false.
Speaking to the EFE news agency, he said: “The talk in the Spanish press that we cheated on the Ronaldo deal, based on the Arabia News 50 website, is false and incorrect. The press came up with this joke and thought it was true.”
The Club President wasn’t the only one to leave Cristiano Ronaldo-led Al-Nassr
According to the Saudi Gazette, Al-Muammar has handed in his resignation letter to the Ministry of Sports, which could lead to the dissolution of the current Al-Nassr board of directors. It’s likely that a new board will be appointed and a new president will take office before the season ends.
In addition to a reorganization of the board of directors, manager Rudi Garcia was let go after a series of failures on the field. Al-Nassr are reorganizing their board of directors in an effort to save their season and get the most out of the current season.

It is highly unlikely that table-toppers Al-Ittihad, who are 6 points ahead of Al-Nassr, are going to slip from their position. But, Cristiano Ronaldo fans worldwide won’t be hoping otherwise.
