UFC 298 is just 2 months away, and the co-main event bout is getting the most attention from the MMA community. The bantamweight division once again is all heated up after Sean O’Malley took the belt away from Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 via TKO.
Sterling is also waiting for his call regarding his rematch against “Sugar,” as he lost the title after defending it three times this August. But the co-main event of UFC 298 is also a championship-type fight, as former champion Henry Cejudo will be up against Aljo’s teammate Merab Dvalishvili.

Henry Cejudo was supposed to make his comeback at UFC 292 after losing at UFC 288, but refused the offer to fight against Chito Vera over Merab Dvalishvili. In the search for gold, “Triple C” believes that if he beats Dvalishvili, he will get the chance to have hands on Sterling’s latest achievement. Once Merab noticed the former Olympic gold medalist was after him, both fighters started trash-talking.
Henry, in one of his latest tweets, quoted Dvalishvili’s tweets writing, “My name is a lot easier to pronounce. It’s “D-A-D-D-Y.” The original tweet coming from Merab was “Say my name @HenryCejudo D V A L I S H V I L I”
The intensity is also there because Aljamain is a teammate of the Georgian fighter who always supports him, even if it is against UFC president Dana White. It will be obvious to find Sterling on the side of the cage to support his teammate at UFC 298.

FunkMaster was on his YouTube channel talking about the co-main event of UFC 298. Sterling was seen predicting the winner of Cejudo vs. Merab, which will take place on February 17th, 2024. Aljo was pretty clear with his thoughts about how Henry will perform, but the outcome will be in favor of someone who he believes is dominant.
Aljamain talked about the UFC 298 main event and said, “Cejudo does well with that karate stance. If you run in, he has a good right hand. My early prediction for this is that Merab Dvalishvili finishes Henry Cejudo in Round 3. I’m going to say TKO. Merab’s not really a submission guy. Actually, I’m not going to give it away, but Merab’s got some tricks.”
The UFC 298 bout also features the main event fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria for the featherweight championship belt. Both the main event and the co-main event feature the last fight winner vs. the last fight loser, with “Triple C” and “The Great” coming from the loss and Ilia Topuria and Merab Dvalishvili coming from the win.
