The UFC bantamweight title will be on the line when champion Aljamain Sterling faces number #2 contender TJ “Killashaw” Dillashaw at UFC 279!
The matchup was set in stone after the Funkmaster himself called Dillashaw out in front of 15,000 fans after his emphatic win at UFC 273. Dillashaw came back to the UFC after a two-year drug suspension and earned a decision win over Cory Sandhagen, which put him in a pole position to challenge the winner of Sterling vs Yan 2!

TJ was present at ringside as Aljamain duked it out with Petr Yan to earn a split decision victory. It looks the much-anticipated clash will finally materialize on the 10th of September. The bantamweight title could change hands once more if TJ manages to stop the Funkmaster!
But Sterling will be the clear favorite in the fight as former Champion and drug user Dillashaw is 36 years old and at the tail end of his career. Sterling is on the run of his life after defending his belt against Yan and legitimizing his status as champion.
Sterling’s first “victory” against Yan came under very controversial circumstances, he is the first and only DQ champion in UFC history. Aljo was dominated and controlled for the whole fight until Petr Yan threw an illegal knee, this ended the fight with a disqualification loss for the former Russian champion.
