When thinking of a boxing match, Jose Aldo vs Floyd Mayweather is not something most people have in their minds. But combat sports is known for being bizarre and unpredictable and in such a turn of events we now see these two retired fighters potentially coming together for a boxing match.
Jose Aldo broke the news saying, “His side has already agreed, my side too. We’re now waiting for [the promoters] to get the deal done … It might be exhibition on [Mayweather’s] side, but not for me. It’s a punch to the face like always. He knows that.”
Floyd may have called it a career after defeating UFC’s McGregor all the way back in 2017 but his actions inside the ring have somehow kept on going alongside his career as a promoter. He has already fought the likes of Deji Olatunji, Mikuru Asakura, Don Moore, Tenshin Nasukawa, Logan Paul, etc., and currently is scheduled to take on Aaron Chalmers.
There are also a lot of names getting thrown around for the highly-rated boxer to fight next which includes Anthony Taylor, Jake Paul, Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, Manny Pacquiao, Henry Cejudo, and Ian McCall just to name a few. Now if the fight against Jose Aldo really happens, it should add to his legacy.
