The Chiefs are in the Super Bowl and will face the in-form Eagles. Eagles throughout the season were destructive, and along with their playoff victories, they have gone on to win sixteen encounters out of their nineteen. The Chiefs will have to give it their all to win against the charging flok of Eagles.
However, the fans will be concerned with the Chiefs’ injury update.
The Chiefs against the Bengals played with an injured quarterback as Patrick Mahomes had an ankle injury. Despite not being at his 100%, Patrick held his nerves and led his team to a famous victory. The issues started in between the AFC Championship game when three wide receivers, Mecole Hardman, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Kadarius Toney, got injured and could not make it back to the game.
Hardman suffered from a pelvis injury and seemed the most serious case out of the three. Smith suffered a knee injury, while Tony had several injuries in the ankle and hamstring areas. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid showed his concerns while sharing their injury update with reporters.
What did Andy Reid say about the Chiefs’ injury update?
Head coach, while providing the Chiefs’ injury update, said that he is optimistic about the return of JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Kadarius Toney. The two wide receivers are recovering fast and they are expected to be a part of the team when they take on the Eagles in Super Bowl 57.
However, there are major concerns with the injury of Mecole Hardman. While speaking about the pelvis-injured wide receiver, Coach Ried said, “I doubt he’ll make the Super Bowl.” Including the AFC Championship game against the Bengals, Hardman has featured in nine encounters this season.
In those nine games, the wide receiver has made 25 receptions while crossing 297 yards with an average of 11.9 receiving yards per game, and on top of that, he has scored four crucial touchdowns. The Chiefs will surely miss him if he does not make it to the Super Bowl on Sunday next week- 12th February.
