Tottenham fans experienced a thrilling match yesterday following a brilliant comeback victory by the team against Sheffield United. Manager Ange Postecoglou managed to lead the Hotspurs to a stunning 2-1 victory.
The game was quite a thrilling match, with fans being entertained till the last moments. The deadlock was still on even after half time. In the second half, Sheffield United managed to get a dramatic lead in the 73rd minute through a Gustavo Hamer strike. But Tottenham managed to turn the tides around in extra time. At first, Richarlison equalised in the 98th minute, and then Dejan Kulusevski grabbed the winner two minutes later. While Tottenham fans were happy, Sheffield United manager Paul was disappointed in the referees.
Ange Postecoglou discusses fan expectations
After a great start to the season and following their recent stunning victory, Tottenham fans have become a bit confident about their expectations.
Many believe that the fans need to cool down on their excitement, but manager Ange Postecoglou believes the opposite.
In the post-game interview, the Australian manager spoke to the media, where he was asked whether Tottenham fans need to lower their hopes.
Postecoglou emphatically replied, “No, no, no, let them go, let them go and enjoy it. My role is not to burst people’s bubbles. Let them get excited, let them get ahead of themselves.”
He then proceeded to describe that fans need to enjoy some moments, and that it is his and his team’s duty to match those expectations.
“That’s the beauty of being a supporter. They go through enough pain mate, you want to let them enjoy it. If they think we’re going to be world beaters then great, that’s up to us to match that expectation. Our supporters deserve to have some happiness and enjoy it any way they want to.”
Ange’s Tottenham maintain unbeaten start to Premier League
Tottenham have been brilliant since the beginning of this season. After Ange Postecoglou was appointed the manager, many thought he would be another name in a long list of failures at the club. This was backed by the fact that their star talisman Harry Kane had left them for Bayern Munich.
But Ange Postecoglou has managed to revitalize the team, grabbing important victories. In their first five games, they have clinched four victories, including a big win against Manchester United.
Currently, the Hotspurs are second in the table, with 13 points taken out of a possible 15 points. But most importantly, the team is performing great, with players like Heung min Son and Richarlison thriving once more.
Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou have a big challenge next Sunday, when they will face North London rivals Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium. What are your expectations from Ange Postecoglou?
