Davis has been a real game changer for the Lakers as his intelligent passing and clutch gameplay is something that cannot be easily replicated. In a recent game against Timberwolves, Davis made a new record for the most points with rebounds. Therefore, his presence is much needed for the Lakers as the 2023-24 season playoffs are about to start.
However, during their showdown against the Dubs, AD suffered an eye injury which initially scared fans.
Anthony Davis ruled out Warriors After Suffering Eye Injury
Recently, during the game between the Lakers and the Warriors, Anthony Davis was rushed to the locker room after the first quarter.
Davis suffered a gruesome eye injury after he was hit in the face by Warriors forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, while scoring on a layup. This was later reported as a corneal abrasion by Shams Charania on X.
AD’s injury was the turning point of the game, after which the Warriors simply outplayed Lakers, and went on to win the game. After the game, Dubs coach Steve Kerr said “Obviously, they [Lakers] missed Anthony big time. He’s such a great defender. He changes the whole game out there when he’s in the paint. His absence opened up the paint for us. We were able to get into it quite a bit in the second half.”
Anthony Davis is the NBA’s most prone to suffering injuries
Davis is often mocked by Lakers fans due to his injuries, and many analysts and former NBA players have suggested him to take a long rest to get his health absolutely back on track as they feel that AD never heals fully and always returns back to the game prematurely.
As per Fox Sports, Anthony Davis has been injured 24 times so far in the year 2024 itself, so him getting injured is nothing new for Lakers fans. It is also not the first time that fans have heard the news of Los Angeles Lakers looking for an alternative to AD.
Anthony Davis is a phenomenal player and a generational talent, whose prime is not getting fully utilized due his injuries. Still, one can only hope that he recovers from this injury quickly and help the LA Lakers in getting into the playoffs.
