Anthony Joshua throws shade at Tyson Fury on potential bout saying Gypsy King needs him to rescue from “this circus”

Anthony Joshua believes that since Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are on the verge of failing to reach an agreement regarding their highly awaited heavyweight match, Fury’s only remaining option is to name AJ as his next opponent.

Joshua, who has suffered back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, is now looking forward to getting back on the winning track after defeating heavyweight Jermaine Franklin. The British boxer will make his comeback to the ring on April 1 at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

What is Anthony Joshua saying about his potential bout with Tyson Fury?

Throughout AJ’s decade-long boxing career, he never faced Tyson Fury before. However, the two-time former unified heavyweight champion is hopeful that Fury is going to call him out as The Gypsy King’s next fight with Oleksandr Usyk is in jeopardy.

“There’s no better time to get Fury in the ring than now because he needs me to redeem himself from this circus, this letdown. He needs me so there’s no better time than for him to call my name out and I’m someone that will take on any challenge,” said Joshua.

The British boxer has a professional record of 24-3-0 after 27 fights, with 22 of his victories coming via KO/TKO. Unfortunately, the 33-year-old boxer’s recent record isn’t very commendable, as he has suffered all three of his career defeats in his previous five fights, two of which have come at the hands of Ukrainian heavyweight kingpin Usyk.

Fury, the current WBC heavyweight champion, made it clear he doesn’t want to fight Joshua since the native English fighter is dead in his eyes, despite Joshua’s hopes for a call from Fury. “There’s no business between me and him to be done. Finished. From 2017 to, however long it’s been, 2022 – trying to make a fight. So, it’s not happening.” Fury said.

The highly awaited heavyweight battle between Fury and Usyk was set for April 29 in London, but the most recent reports indicate that there are still many technical issues to be resolved, making the fight questionable with only one month left.
