With twenty points, Arsenal sits third in the league. However, they need to bolster their offense if they want to make further progress. Amid the uncertainty surrounding Victor Osimhen’s future, Arsenal has expressed interest in signing Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Although Wolves are reluctant to part ways with their top player, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has his eyes set on him. There are also rumors that another world-class Serie A player may be on the move.
Arsenal reportedly targeting Wolves’ Pedro Neto
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ right winger, Pedro Neto, has been on Arsenal’s radar. Though the 23-year-old has been on the bench for two of his last three matches, his performance for his club is enough to prove his skills. His five assists this season have led many clubs to express interest in adding him to their squad.
Reports claim that Arsenal would be ready to offer £40 million for Pedro Neto’s services. Former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell also talked about how the Portuguese winger can help his old club, saying, “For the money you pay for Victor Osimhen, you could probably get Ivan Toney and Neto for that,” Campbell said. “He’s young enough, but he’s not going to have to play every game. Sometimes, when Neto plays too many games, that’s when the fatigue kicks in.”
Napoli contemplates Osimhen’s move to Arsenal
Another world-class player who could possibly step foot in the Emirates stadium is Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian striker’s relationship with his club has soured after Napoli made fun of him for missing a penalty. Victor Osimhen has also taken legal action against the 2022–23 Serie A winner and possibly won’t be signing a contract extension with them.
Though Victor Osimhen is exploring other options, it’s uncertain if he will join Mikel Arteta’s team. His arrival could potentially lead to the departure of Gabriel Jesus. Napoli may not only ask for a transfer fee but also request a player in exchange for Victor’s services, and Gabriel Jesus seems to be the player of interest for the Italian club. Jesus plays a crucial role in Arteta’s squad, and it’s unclear if the Spaniard would agree to these terms.
We have yet to see if Arsenal will sign Pedro Neto or take a risk by pursuing Victor Osimhen in the next transfer window.
