However, It is reported that Barcelona has rejected an opportunity to sign Neymar on loan. The Catalan giants decided to miss out on the opportunity because their manager reportedly decided against it.
Barcelona declined PSG’s Neymar offer in Ousmane Dembélé trade
Since the shocking awakening to Kylian Mbappe’s departure, PSG has been actively involved in this window’s transfer market for an attacker. PSG needs attackers that can manage to fill the voids of Mbappe in his blistering speed and Lionel Messi in mastery in evasive maneuvers.
PSG first attempted to agree a deal for Rasmus Hojlund, who decided against the club for Manchester United. However, they are making headway with the signing of Goncalo Ramos, who is expected to join the club in the coming days.
The Ligue One giant has also made contact with Barcelona, offering Neymar as part of the deal to sign Ousmane Dembele. It is reported that Barcelona has outrightly rejected the opportunity to sign the Brazilian superstar. And this is quite a surprise considering Neymar’s obvious talent.

PSG is expected to pay €50 million (£43 million) for Dembele even though the release clause for the amount expired on July 31. Dembele renewed his contract with Barcelona last year. By his new contract, Dembele could choose to remain at Camp Nou till 2024, but it appears that the French winger fancies a move to Paris, having agreed on personal terms with PSG.
Another hold-up to this deal is Barcelona’s valuation of Dembele’s milestone at the club. By Dembele’s contract, he is entitled to a bonus of half his transfer fee if he’s considered to have performed well at the club. Barcelona insists that Dembele will potentially receive this bonus of €25 million based on milestones and objectives they say he hasn’t met.
What is PSG’s Neymar current contract?
According to Goal, Neymar signed a contract extension with PSG in the summer of 2021. Footmercato reveals that Neymar earns a staggering pay of €36 million annually. No surprise he was excited about his contract extension;
