Ben Askren, Daniel Cormier unleash reality check on Colby Covington, referring to fans as “broke bi**hes”

Colby Covington has developed a reputation as one of the biggest heels in MMA, thanks to his trash-talking and confrontational persona. Colby “Chaos” Covington can also be referred to as the ultimate bad guy. He is often criticized by ex-fighters for his trash-talking against his opponents.

But this time, he took it a little too far. Following his loss against Leon Edwards in the UFC 296 title bout, in the loser speech, after thanking the audience for their support, he came up with a surprising remark, which created a buzz in the fighting community.

Why Colby Chaos Covington had an emotional outburst towards the audience

Following his defeat, Colby lifted his hands in a manner that implied victory. He began his post-fight statement by thanking the crowd and restating his earlier comments that the battle was simple for him.

“I’ve had a long lay-off so I think ring rust had a lot to do with it,” he said. “I feel great. I didn’t feel like I got touched. It was an easy fight, I don’t have a scratch on me. I’d like to get back to work early next year.”

The boos from the crowd caused him to lose his composure, and he swore. He spat out, “You’re all a bunch of drunk b—-es anyway,” Covington said to the crowd. “F— you.”

After speaking against the judgment, he even dragged in Donald Trump in his speech and claimed his support for Trump is the reason behind this decision. People are not surprised much by his actions, as he is known to say such things.

Daniel Cormier and Ben Askren expose Colby Covington

In a conversation, Daniel Cormier and Ben Askern discussed Colby Covington’s behavior and exposed him. As he could be heard saying gimmicky things and later losing control in frustration, he cursed the audience for booing him. It must be a devastating feeling when you enter the arena with loud cheers but leave with people booing you.

The comments seemed to stem from Colby Covington’s frustration over not being able to win the fight. But Cormier and Askren believe “Chaos” took things too far by insulting the very people who pay to watch him fight. Covington is simply playing a character to hype himself up and doesn’t actually hold animosity towards the fans.

The Chaos agent has undoubtedly made himself MMA’s top villain. But Cormier and Askren’s reality check reminds us that going overboard with insults can ultimately hurt one’s career, especially when they’re aimed at the fans who make the sport go round.
