The Bengals’ Quarterback reached an agreement on a five-year worth $275 million extension with the team that includes $219.01 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history. The deal will see Burrow earn an average of $55 million annually.
“I’m going to keep playing well,” Burrow said regarding the extension. “I feel great about the organization and everybody in the locker room and the coaching staff. The contract is the icing on the cake for me. I’m just excited to be out here.”
The 26-year-old is preparing himself for the upcoming Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns.

With his $275 million contract signed, Burrow goes on to reach a new height. The Bengals QB has taken Justin Herbert’s status as the highest-paid Quarterback in the league. Los Angeles Chargers’ Justin Herbert had recently signed a contract worth $262.5 million, making him the third highest-paid player before Burrow took over.

“Joe Burrow is now the fourth quarterback in this off-season to sign a market-resetting contract extension,” confirmed Adam Schefter in a recent tweet.
LA Chargers’ Quarterback Justin Herbert’s deal has $193,738,375 in guarantees, of which $133,738,375 is fully guaranteed at signing locking him in till 2029. In conclusion, the contract is $262.5 million, surpassing Jalen Hurts with the Ravens’ Quarterback Lamar Jackson at the bottom of the list.
Joe Burrow will be playing in the upcoming Week 1 fixture against The Cleveland Browns upon his return to the field, following his recovery.
