The Cincinnati Bengals running back, Joe Mixon, is known for his incredible speed and agility on the field. But recently, the star athlete made headlines for an entirely different reason. On February 6th, a shooting incident occurred near his home, resulting in a minor injury to a juvenile, causing him to be hospitalized.
While no charges have been filed against Mixon himself, his sister, Shalonda Mixon, has been arrested and indicted in connection with the shooting. In this article, we will delve into the details of the incident.
The prosecutor has charged Shalonda and Lamonte with tampering with evidence and separately indicted them for obstructing justice, felonious assault, and possessing weapons under disability.
The prosecutor said Brewer discharged a Zastava pistol, firing 10 or 11 rounds. Ms. Mixon was apprehended at an Anderson Township residence on Thursday, as reported by Sheree Paolello from WLWT.

Melissa Powers, the Hamilton County Prosecutor, divulged in a statement that Ms. Mixon was seen on surveillance footage picking up shell casings before fleeing with her partner from the crime scene.
Paolello also reported on Twitter that the surveillance video captured Ms. Mixon trying to retrieve the shell casings before the arrival of the police, while her boyfriend is accused of being the one who fired the shots.
What happened near the house of Joe Mixon?
On receiving a report of a shooting, Ohio police were dispatched to the property of the former Oklahoma star, where a minor had sustained an injury and was hospitalized, according to reports. Powers revealed during a press conference on Thursday that Mixon was observed carrying his legally-owned firearm on the surveillance footage but did not discharge it.
According to a statement released by Mixon’s agent, Peter Schaffer, the football player had received numerous threats of physical harm and harassment on social media and at his Cincinnati residence after his address was publicly disclosed.
In a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office incident report obtained by TMZ, several juveniles were playing a game called ‘dart wars’ with toy guns near the property when the shooting transpired.
The report states that two of the participating teens claim that while one of them was running along the house with a toy gun, a 16-year-old boy was shot at with an actual firearm.
