Bills LB Von Miller claims domestic violence allegations “100% false” in public since arrest

Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller encountered a legal challenge this season amid allegations involving his pregnant girlfriend. Following a period of silence, the LB has now chosen to break his stance.

The NFL player addressed the media talking about the accusations and the controversy, claiming the entire matter to be false.

Von Miller calls domestic violence allegations are false

Von Miller, who suffered an almost career ending injury last season, publicly refuted allegations of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend, describing them as “100 percent false” and claiming they were exaggerated.

Speaking to the media for the first time since turning himself in on Nov. 30, Miller acknowledged an incident with his girlfriend but emphasized it didn’t match the severity of the allegations.

“Everything was blown out of proportion. It was a crazy day,” the LB said.

Von Miller stated that everything was blown out of proportion, referring to the situation as a “crazy day.” He pointed out there are undisclosed details due to the ongoing investigation.

Expressing regret for the incident, the LB voiced his dislike for his name being associated with such accusations. He assured that it’s only a matter of time before he can provide clarification and clear his name.

“Whatever happened, I hate that it happened. I hate my name is attached to anything like that, and it’s just a matter of time until I can clear it up,” he added. “Me and my girlfriend, we have problems just like any other couple does, but there has never been any of those things that was alleged against me.”

The LB admitted to having problems in his relationship, typical of any couple, but firmly denied the specific allegations made against him. He said it was important for him to speak out after nearly a month of silence in a bid to clear his name. Miller declared that all the allegations were incorrect and untrue, emphasizing that a third son was on the way.

“All of it is incorrect. You know, it’s not a funny situation, but all of it is incorrect and all of it is untrue. The only thing that is true is we do have a third son on the way.”

He mentioned the support of those who know him and stressed that a lapse in judgment is not characteristic of him.

Why was Von Miller arrested?

Von Miller was arrested and charged by police with third-degree felony assault of a pregnant woman, carrying a potential sentence of 2 to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The LB posted a $5,000 bond and is currently free. He and the woman involved have been in a seven-year relationship and have two other children together.

The LB reportedly assaulted the woman by putting his hands on her neck, pulling out her hair, and throwing her onto a couch. The woman suffered minor injuries, including bruising on her neck.

Von Miller allegedly became visibly angry when the woman went into an office in their shared apartment and slammed the door. He instructed her to leave, and when she tried to retrieve her laptop and cell phone, he began pushing her. Despite her pleas of pregnancy, the LB reportedly put pressure on her neck for 3 to 5 seconds.

The affidavit states that the LB threw the woman’s laptop on the floor and stomped on it. She claimed to have recorded some of the attacks, and when she threatened to call the police, Miller left.

The NFL is monitoring the legal developments, and the Buffalo Bills are allowing Miller to play as no charges have been filed. Now, Miller has clearly denied all these allegations.
