The most recent appearance of Billy Joe Saunders in the ring came on May 8th, exactly two years ago. Billy is considering Chris Eubank Jr. for the British fighter’s return match as he is planning for his comeback.
Before facing Saul Alvarez, Saunders (30-1, 14 KOs) was on a roll in his professional boxing career. Canelo knocked down “Superb” at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, ending his run of 30 victories. The British boxer clearly did not take the defeat lightly as he remained inactive for the past two years.

What does Billy Joe Saunders say about fighting Chris Eubank Jr?
Billy appears to have moved past his loss to Canelo in the match dubbed “Face The Fearless.” The British boxer recently announced his desire to fight Eubank Jr. in an Instagram story.
“Two years today my last fight and I will be back this year watch this space… god bless all,” Billy said.
The boxer from Hertfordshire made his professional debut in 2009. The 34-year-old boxer prevailed over a wide range of renowned opponents during his 12-year career. Joe won matches against Shefat Isufi, David Lemieux, Artur Akavov, Andy Lee, and Emanuele Blandamura, among other notable opponents.

In his most recent bout, Eubank Jr. also suffered a technical knockout loss to Liam Smith. Smith and “Next Gen” squared off on January 21, 2023, at Manchester, England’s Manchester Arena.
The “Unleashed” boxing match pitted the former WBO light-middleweight champion, interim WBA middleweight champion, and the former IBO super-middleweight champion. Chris, who was defeated by ‘Beefy’ in the fourth round via technical knockout, is now hoping for a rematch against him.
The first fight between British boxers took place in 2014 at the ExCel Arena in Dockland. Chris’ unbeaten streak as a professional was ended in their first clash by Saunders. It will be interesting to see if Chris accepts the offer and decides to run it back.
