Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Booker T (Booker Tio Huffman Jr.) are two of the most iconic and accomplished professional wrestlers of all time. They have won many World Titles during their WWE careers and had a massive fanbase.
Their careers have intertwined on multiple occasions, both as rivals and allies, and they have delivered some of the most memorable matches in WWE history. Recently, Booker T expressed his thoughts about the match that happened between him and Triple H at Wrestlemania 19.
Booker T talks on defeat to Triple H
In 1998, WCW and the WWF merged, and Triple H and Booker T found themselves competing in the same company for the first time. Their rivalry began in 2001, when Booker T was one of the leaders of the WCW/NWO faction that was feuding with Triple H and the D-Generation X group.
Their most famous feud took place in 2002, culminating in a match at WrestleMania 19 for the World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H defeated Booker T in a controversial match that ended with Triple H using the ring steps to knock Booker T out of the ring. The finish was heavily criticized by fans, who felt that Booker T was robbed of the title.
Booker recently appeared in The Kurt Angle Show and expressed his feelings about his loss in the match at Wrestlemania 19. He said “Him coming as the kid with the silver spoon in his mouth, and me coming from the rough side of the tracks that had been in prison and whatnot. A kid like me shouldn’t make it to that position, but I did — I made it to WrestleMania to the top spot.”
“I didn’t win that night, but I always tell people, ‘Go back and watch that match.’ It was an awesome match. We went out there and let it all hang out, and Hunter took everything that night! I never cared about wins and losses..”. This clearly explains that Booker was not worried about the title loss rather was focused to give a good match to the fans.
