Bray Wyatt to attend WWE Smackdown this week

Bray Wyatt, the Cryptic vignette and former WWE champion has finally made his long-awaited return at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on Saturday. Owing to the success of his Wyatt Family and The Fiend character, he is now widely regarded as one of the most talented storytellers in professional wrestling.

Wyatt hasn’t wrestled since WrestleMania 37, and WWE released him just three months later in July 2021. Since then, people have been dying to know what he will do next. That was shown at Extreme Rules when Wyatt came back out at the end of the show and made the crowd in Philadelphia go crazy.

Throughout the three hours of Extreme Rules, neither Wyatt nor “White Rabbit” were seen or talked about. The only exceptions were a short tease from the QR clip that fans had already seen on Friday’s Smackdown and a quick clip of someone in a white rabbit costume standing outside the arena before the show. Fans had a few seconds to figure out what was going on as a whole.

The crowd even became impatient during the main event between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle, repeatedly screaming, “We want Wyatt.” When Riddle won, WWE TV presented the rest of the night as though it were wrapping up, with almost no appearance from Bray Wyatt.

The lights went out while Riddle was walking backstage with Daniel Cormier, and the arena went completely dark. Thousands of fans immediately turned on their cell phone flashlights to symbolize the “fireflies” associated with Wyatt.

After the stage was set, the audience erupted in response to the singing of “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands.” As the song progressed, the camera zoomed in and focused on several human-sized characters from the Firefly Fun House, including Huskus The Pig Boy, Mercy The Buzzard, Rambling Rabbit, and Abby The Witch. But there was another character who was highlighted: The Fiend.

The arena darkened again, and the camera focused on a door with a bright light behind it and smoke streaming out of it.

After a few seconds, the door flew open, and a masked figure emerged with a lantern. When the figure removed the mask, it confirmed Bray Wyatt’s return to World Wrestling Entertainment. Wyatt then blows out the lamp, bringing the show to an end.

This Friday, Wyatt will be at SmackDown in New Orleans. Fans can’t help but wonder what he’ll say to them after more than a year. The return of Wyatt has already helped WWE get a lot of attention on social media.
