Brittany backs husband Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes had an intense on-field meltdown after the Kansas City Chiefs’ 20-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills. This involved Mahomes angrily throwing his helmet to the ground and attempting to confront officials, needing his teammates to hold him back.
Brittany Mahomes, Patrick’s wife, demonstrated support for him in the aftermath of the incident. Two days after the meltdown, Brittany took to Instagram to express her support.
She shared a series of family photos, seemingly to counterbalance the negative attention from Mahomes’ on-field behavior. The Instagram post included pictures of the QB engaging in tender moments with his family.
Notably, Mahomes was seen crouching down to hug his 2-year-old daughter, Sterling Skye, while Brittany Mahomes held their 1-year-old son, Patrick ‘Bronze’.
Brittany Mahomes captioned the post “Riding with 15 always,” referencing Patrick Mahomes’ jersey number, 15. This caption reinforces her unwavering support for her husband, despite the controversial incident.
Brittany utilized social media to showcase a family-oriented perspective, emphasizing support for her husband after his emotional outburst during the football game. The post aimed to redirect the narrative and highlight the personal, positive aspects of Mahomes’ life.
Brittany Mahomes also called out NFL refs after loss to Bills
A few days ago, Brittany Mahomes, who has recently formed a strong friendship with Taylor Swift, responded to the Chiefs’ loss to the Buffalo Bills by calling out NFL referees.
She posted a video on social media, focusing on the heated clash during the final drive of the game. In the caption of the video, Brittany wrote ‘MVP,’ implying that the referees were the most valuable players in the game.
The Chiefs lost 20-17, and a potential winning touchdown by Kadarius Toney was overturned due to an offside penalty on the wide receiver. Patrick Mahomes had a strong emotional reaction, screaming and attempting to confront the officials.
He expressed frustration, describing the decision as ‘f****ng terrible’ and having to be restrained by teammates. Two days later, the QB admitted his behavior was out of line and expressed his readiness to accept the consequences.
He acknowledged the difficulty of the referee’s job and expressed regret for his actions, particularly towards Josh Allen, the opposing quarterback.
“Honestly, I don’t know. I know usually, when you talk about referees, saying stuff towards referees, it’s not a good thing. Their job is hard, they are trying to do their best as well.”
Patrick Mahomes also acknowledged the possibility of facing fines and emphasized the need to accept the consequences of his actions.
“I didn’t act in the way I usually act and if there’s consequences, I have to accept those,” the QB added.
He expressed regret for his behavior and highlighted the importance of learning from the experience to be better as a person and a player. But Brittany didn’t shy away from supporting her husband, as she immediately posted that MVP story to criticize the referee.
